• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Chase Case #3 (2010 version)

I'm going to take a short trip from Joplin to Pittsburg, KS to take a look at the developing cell near the KS/MO boarder, but I'm also going to keep a close eye on the developing cell just to the south of that one.

Currently a storm overhead in Pine Bluff, AR. I am going to get out in front of it a bit and head slightly NE to Brinkley, AR.

Headed north from Forrest City, AR on Highway 1 to intercept the cell in that line passing near Little Rock headed ENE.

I'll head to Springfield, MO so I have a N/S option. With 69/62F, I suspect instability should have increased since the 12z sounding. With those winds backing near the warm front, low level helicity is probably pretty insane, so I don't want to head any further south. There also appears to be some discreet cells trying to fire over eastern KS, which may be the beginning something good. Depending on which way they're moving (I'm guessing they're screaming NE), I might want to try and make it ~20 miles or so north of Springfield for a possible intercept.

L.B. cant make up his friggen mind, as he drives back to Mount Vernon, MO to see Nick again...LOL. I should arrive just about the time of the 21z update.

Looks like the WF has really surged north. I want to stay near that. The clearing in W. Central IL has me thinking that the line of cumulus -- possibly along a wave aloft and right along a surging line of higher thata-e -- could re-intensify into something.

Put me back home in Quincy, IL by 21z. *fingers crossed I those cells in KS don't do much for my sake!

I'm liking what I'm seeing! Already a nice broken line of supercells pressing across Arkansas. What I'm not liking is the surface winds in my area and points southward. Going to head ENE on US82 out of Hamburg to get out of the jungle and out onto the Mississippi plain. Plan on heading north on 165 toward Dumas, AR but will be monitoring cells to the west very closely, ready to jump on any that start to look good.

At this point I have decided to chase one of the two cells east of Little Rock, AR. I will follow these east across the state with the option of chasing anything else developing back to the west if these don't tornado.

It looks like there are two decent storms very near my current location of England, AR. I will chase the southern cell currently located in the vicinity of Pine Bluff, AR as it moves to the north and east!

Think Im gonna jet back north and stay close to that low. I like the terrain a whole lot better up there than down here in SW/S MO and on days like this, I dont like being so far away from the main low. Current thinking is to get to Louisburg, KS by 20z. May have to go even further north than that, but will re-evaluate when I get there.

In Chanute, KS, at 18Z. Want to be closer to the warm frontal action so am leaving for Concordia, MO, by 21Z. Will re-evaluate at about 20Z on the road passing through KC to decide if I need to get farther north via I-35.
