Wow! Snooze and lose.... I haven't looked at the 12Z yet. The 00Z negative tilt short wave is already inspiring a stout lee slope surface low in northeastern CO. 60s dews are heading for the high country throughout the northern Plains. Big area of interest, so I guess I'll split the difference and go to sleep in Lusk, WY.

Waking up in Russell, KS. Looking at upper 50 Tds already in e CO with good easterly surface flow. A more northerly track negative tilt trough. I'm going to make my way up to McCook, NE and wait for the next group of data.

Wow, what a system! The maps seem to tell a different story from the soundings regarding capping, and I'm not sure what to make of that. But assuming the trough does its job, it looks to me like a widespread outbreak is in the making.

I like where I'm at in North Platte. Mid-levels are weak but that'll change, moisture is surging in from the southeast, and I expect this cloud cover will clear out before long.

I'm staying in North Platte, NE for now. Some of the surface obs have a windshift to the southwest, maybe an OFB from that junk on the radar moving overheard now? I'll watching that to see if there is a playable boundary later, but otherwise waiting for the shear and moisture to arrive.

I too am sticking in North Platte. Gonna let these light rain showers move out of the area and wait for the next set of data. Great moisture already moving into the area though.

Waking up in North Platte, NE with the small armada of other chasers that have overnighted here. Despite some rain showers, seeing clearing and the trough still to the west, so don't see any reason to leave. Have a feeling it's going to be a hurry up and wait kind of day. Going to see if I can't track down Bob Hartig and see if he still has that frisbee.

I am heading west on I-70 to Oakley, KS and will wait there for the next update. I really like southwest Kansas, however the strong capping around 750mb is a real concern. If I go north I am sure to get storms, however if the cap does break in southwest Kansas it could be explosive.
