I am starting to get concerned about a significant "sleeper" severe weather event over the Southern Great Plains on Monday.

Latest ECMWF has a 991mb surface low over west Texas with a warm front east across Oklahoma. Both the ECMWF and Canadian show a negatively tilted short wave of moderate intensity moving into the southern High Plains late Monday and Monday night.

If put a preliminary forecast in SPC terms, I'd have an EHN within about a 70 mi radius of MLC and SLGT over the SPC Day 4 except that I'd pull the west side to US 283 between U.S. 400 and I-20.

Wouldn't be the first Monday, May 3rd to feature a significant "sleeper" severe weather event over the Southern Great Plains...

Not that I am in any way expecting anything close to a repeat of that.
