Link for Forecast Steering winds

I am looking for some model plots that estimate forecast steering winds - I guess that they are a blance of the mean winds 700 - 850 mb. Right now I use this link but it is is only current and not forecast.

Does anyone know of a web page that show forecast mean 700-850mb winds ??

I haven't used these much, but, it looks like there are some steering wind and shear forecast plots at

Stuart,

Model winds are implicit with the cimss fields you are using. The base model field is strongly adjusted by the observed wind...however if there is not an observed sat. wind for in a large areal extent, you can assume the global model (I believe it is the GFS) is the field there. Also the TC vortex has been removed from the analysis (as best as possible) to give more of a "truer" environmental effect (this is the case with all Cimss fields).

Also note that there are multiple levels based on the intensity of the storm. I would not use the 700-850 for something as strong as Gustav...I would use the 250-850 or 250-700 features.
