Thoughts about the upcoming 2015 chase season

If there's something before the second week of April I'll do the Mexican Hat Dance under stormy skies. Flow pattern looks like about what I'd expect and it'll likely translate to a very, very quiet March on the Plains.

Another quiet year in the Plains with a few good days out in open fields hopefully. I wouldn't be shocked to see Dixie Alley heat up in April if the STJ keeps going the way it has been.

They say records are meant to be broken lol

This won't be changing anytime soon.

An almost flat line from the very start of January through now. Either this season is gonna go off like a firecracker as we move into April or we're somehow going to drive the masses crazy before May even gets here. Has there ever been a year like this since 2000?

Well, its certainly the lowest number in the past 10 years if we look at this graph

But according to this one below, the minimum is 5, though it doesn't say what year that was. Given the going forecast this year will certainly continue to remain on the bottom.

I doubt we'll come roaring back by the end of March judging by the way this block is setting up. The rex block is gonna be thermally reinforced repeatedly off the PNW coast and the southern branch gets warped through northern Mexico into the Gulf. Just plain disgusting.

Seriously hard to force myself to look at a reasonable range right now. Venturing past 240 just makes me feel dirty. But hey, big trough on the 25th guys, calling it now.

As long as the Great Lakes are so below average in temperature they're going to be sucking those high pressures down from Canada. Sounds like a negative feedback loop?
