• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Well, here we go... Texas is now back in a drought and this week North Texas entered the ranks again, resurrecting the bones of the previous drought that was in full force from May 2005 to January 2007. Disappointingly I just saw today's front slide through North Texas as a dry front, with barely a trickle for east Texas.

Also there's STILL no relief for the southern Appalachians and Piedmont area.

The CPC predictions have all of Texas and the Deep South in a higher than normal probability for continued below-normal precipitation. I wonder if we're looking at more duststorms for David Drummond and the rest of the people in West Texas in a few months. In any case, this will be BAD if it continues, since wintertime precipitation and especially snow events are a super-important source of soil moisture and for recharging the aquifers in the Great Plains (Ogallala, etc).

good thing MS is coming out of it...

but take an hour long drive across the border, and your thick in it...looks like there gonna get a little bit of rain though, so thats cool...

I wonder how much of the conditions in the southeast are actually owed to the fact that tropical systems have been few and far between the past couple of years. Having lived in the piedmont, we could count on loads of tropical moisture every summer. If it wasn't coming in off the Atlantic, it came in off the Gulf and moved up the eastern seaboard. Just hasn't been happening lately, though -

Oh yeah, and what happened to the 'above average year' for hurricanes this year that we kept hearing about up until October?

I live in Florence, SC. Drought here is pretty bad. We arnt recycling our bath water or anything but its the worst ive ever seen in my lifetime here. The NOAA drought monitor is predicting for the conditions here to persist. A couple of tropical systems this fall sure could of taken the edge off. We usually get some tropical moisture at some point in the fall. Not this year :-(
