Okay, I am officially jealous. If this was a "crappy year," y'all didn't prove it by me with these gorgeous images!! Thank you for my birthday present, these awe inspiring photographs!! Congratulations, everyone in making the best out of a "bad" situation. Here are my three -

Thanks. I abandoned the storm 15 miles southeast of Dodge City and ended up on Highway 183 north-northwest of Greensburg, right next to the FFD. Interesting perspective as the tower moved directly towards me. Here's the photo log:

The atomic explosion over Oregon, MO on June 7th. Gorilla hail producer.

Tornado north of Edina, MO on 5-13.

Hard to pick 3, ill say this about 2009 though...what it lacked in terms of tornadoes it more than made up for with structure.
