Well, these pictures will pretty much tell you what kind of season I had - the astute observer will notice that there are NO tornadoes, LOL.

May 27, massive accumulation of hail in Las Vegas, NM:

May 23, ropy funnel near Santo Domingo Pueblo, NM:

The next two are more from a photography perspective than especially interesting storms. This one, titled "Do Not Enter This Storm," just got juried into an art show:

The one above was taken west of Macomb, IL on April 23. 3 days earlier, I got this from Glik Park in Edwardsville, IL:

I guess the jurors didn't like it as well because it did not get in the show, but I still like it.

Tough Season for the Overseas Chasers who ventured out in May - But some of my best Lightning Pics and the Tornado (3) pics were on the move and video captures so Structure it is this year.

Pic 1 - April 29th South East of Childress

Pic 2 - May 12th Childress

Pic 3 - May 20th Nebraska Microburst

Pic 4 - May 13th Oklahoma

Great shots, everyone. It was a great year for myself, including photographing storms/tornadoes....probably my best yet. Here are a few:

It says a lot about the ill-timing of my Plains chasing that by far the most interesting storm photo I got this year was from on top of The Roanoke Times building where I work ... a tornado-warned meso swirling east of downtown Roanoke, Va., on June 10.

And here's a homegrown stacked shelf cloud coming over the mountains the day after I got back from the Plains on June 3.

And my best photo from the actual Plains chase trip: A clear slot on the back edge of the left-splitting supercell north of Dallas-Fort Worth on May 26:

Wow. Very nice pictures so far everyone. Damn. Keep them coming.

Here's a few of mine. I need to get a wide angle lens!

This was my first year of actual chasing. I didn't get a tube, but I sure learned a lot, considering I was only allowed out of the house two times.

The first three are from the 4/25 Wheeler, TX storm. This system almost produced.

This one is from 6/7, just east of St. Joseph, MO. I managed to avoid the monster hail that some folks didn't.

I caught this lightening while traveling back to AR on 6/7.

A good first season for me. I was in the right place twice, just didn't get lucky.

Some beautiful photographs. I really enjoy the wide angle shots of the storm structure. I guess the tornado images are becoming so common these days. Really enjoy seeing the cumulus clouds from a distance - the sunset photos - structure.

Great images :)

I think there should be some unofficial contest ending with a two round poll to vote for the best. I think some comments on whose looks best would be a good.

Also...man is this thread taking a long time to load.....even with my fast internet connection. ARRGGGG big photos....:D

I agree with a vote to determine the best photo of 09. Of course there are so many great photos on here to choose from, it's hard to pick one.

The top 3 I like so far in no particular order:

2nd photo of tornado from Dustin Wilcox
1st photo of lightning from Scott Weberpal
1st photo of tornado from Dick McGowan

Heres a few of my favorites for this year:

April gave me my best shots. All near home here in Western Kansas.
