• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Where's the heat?

We southerners feel the same way about heat as you northerners do about cold. It's weird to me to see a thread where people are actually wanting hot weather. Believe me, you can have all of it you want, in fact I'd just as soon it pass right over us and land in your backyards :-)

Heat down here is just like cold up there; it's fun for a few days or even a few weeks, but when you deal with it for months at a time, it becomes miserable.

It's been another cool, wet spring and early summer around here so far. We've had some days over 90 which is par for the course, but low- to mid-80's on July 3rd is amazing. If the forecast holds, we won't hit 90 on the 4th of July which is a first in my memory.

I think a lot of us feel that a summer just isn't a summer without some good ol' fashioned, intense summertime heat! I know just from talking with people that it's hard to believe it's July already. It seems much earlier than it should because we haven't experienced the sweltering yet. Weird how that happens.

I'm sure not everyone feels like I do, but a lot of us here in the midwest look forward to the intense heat of summer every winter as we shovel our sidewalks and driveways over and over.

Iowa/Minnesota and the Dakotas are definitely behind this year. Here in MN the corn is just barely knee high and much shorter in some areas. We'd expect it to be about thigh high by now. Also lacking has been the hot days with the big MCS coming through at night. MSP has only had one 90 degree day so far. We also haven't had the warm front setups for severe weather that we're used to up here. Just a different year so far.
