It's amazing how much better the central and souther plains' have gotten when it comes to the drought. Just a couple months ago, a large portion of central and southern Texas was in severe to exceptional drought. Now only a small part of southern Texas is in moderate drought. http://www.drought.unl.edu/dm/monitor.html
It will be interesting to see what affect the lessening of the drought has on this year's storm season. I'm interested in seeing what the plains looks like without it being all dried up. LOL
