Ok, some of us are sitting on the other side of the world watching the plains chase season on Stormtrack. I'd like to start a thread for the best pic of the 08 season. Maybe we should have seperate catagories for storms, tornado's and anything else. I've attached my fave pic so far. For me this storm pic on 23/05 by Steve Miller encapsulates everything chasing is about, open highways, open plains, and massive cell exploding on the horizon.
Anyone else please add your favourites here.

I would but 2008 is far from over yet. That picture is asome.

Congrats Steve Miller for the asome shot.

As has been mentioned, the season is not yet over. It mostly is for me, though, so I'll submit a shameless plug for my own "Storm Structure" shot. ;-) I was pretty happy with the way it turned out:

Chalk this shot up to luck more than anything. This shot is from the cell that went over OKC on May 1st. We were on the cell pretty much from it's birth, and followed it North East through town. We turned onto 102, I think, and came upon this nice field. We managed to be in the right place at the right time to catch this backlit LP supercell.

Both of these are pretty sweet structure shots, I'd like to see Steve's a little bit bigger, I'd be thrilled to have taken either one.

I wish I had a high quality wide angle of this shot from the 5/23/08 Dighton Kansas area tornado:

Just a video grab. Not sure it was on the ground right there...but what a beautiful storm for a while.

Very nice! That would make for a great poster to have hanging up. What camera do you use?

Thanks Joey. I'm working on getting it printed as a large pano. I'll probably do 12x36, as I like that length.

I shot with a Canon 30D, and usually use a 20mm prime lens. This shot was actually around 8 vertical images that I stitched into a tone mapped HDR image. Quite a bit of extra work, but the effect is nice.

Like some have said, 08 is not over yet. I guess so far, this is my favorite in 08. I took it SE of Fairview, OK on 5/24/08

I have two and I think the first one is the best honestly.

Both images are copyrighted even though the logo isn't there. Remember do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

First - I dig several shots posted so far ... but both Steve Miller's and James Langford's photos are total winners. James' is my screen saver this week. Doug Raflik is right - BRAVO.

Since this has sort of turned into the best shots we've managed to get so far, here's one I took on Friday that kind of tells the story of a chase in the plains:
