• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Storms along a line from New Orleans northeastward to Selma AL. Nothing to terribly impressive with the storms. Clarke and Wilcox counties under a tornado warning at this time. Only signature, a shear marker, is associated with this storm at this time.. SPC has tor watch 729 out until 4z.

I'm watching that cell to my SW. It looks rather weak with little lightning associated according to radar. However, there looks to be a decent amount of shear in it. My buddies from the University of South Alabama captured a tornado on video this afternoon so I suppose anything is possible throughout the area until the instability weakens.

I'd be a bit concerned about the overnight isolated tornado potential across southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. 0-1km SRH of 300m**2s**-2 are in place thanks to decent turning in the low levels and speed shear of 25-40kt as depicted by the KMOB VAD profile and SPC mesoanalysis. Decent 0-3km CAPE of 50-100J/kg will also promote low-topped supercell structures ahead of and embedded in the line. Finally, the strong low-level jet should help to keep the boundary layer mixed and inhibit decoupling, allows for some surface-based convection. Overall, I wouldn't be surprised to hear of a few more tornadoes overnight, especially in an area bounded by Montgomery, Enterprise, Mobile, and Selma.

Possible touchdown just reported in Dixons Mills in Marengo County. Rotation still is being indicated on KBMX. It looks like other showers are beginning to rotate just to my south in Coosa County. New warnings put out for Perry and Hale due to the report and approaching rotation.

In here real quick, Myself along with a few other South Alabama Meteorology students witnesses a weak tornado near Bayou LaBatre, AL this afternoon.

I'll get a full report up later as it's been a real busy evening. After the tornado we were in a damage area checking on some folks and making sure they were ok as emergency crews were not on site yet. as we were getting ready to go the media showed up and thought we'd be a good story. The local tv met is one of our graduates so we've been up at the studio for a while.

Brett I guess you talked to Randy? He was just down the road but I dont think he saw the tornado.

I'll get a report up here in a bit.

They just issued what has got to be the smallest Tornado Watch in history. The watch is pretty much centered around the cities of Clanton in Chilton Co. and Prattville in Autauga Co. A small cluster of rotating storms, imbeded within the line, continues to show low to moderate rotational values. Granted, small spin-ups are probable, so it at least warrants this tiny watch. It is quite moist and very warm for this hour of the night for that area of Alabama, more the less time of year. The SPC goes into some details about this watch, I think I said a good bit though.

Not really all that surprising they issued a limited watch like that. I have seen in the past where they have issued one for a single, long lived supercell with a history of tornadoes.

Significant damage and possible injuries in Hale County just southwest of Newburn.

Trailers overturned, houses with roofs off, trees and lines down with possible injuries per volunteer fire. We are awaiting more information.

That storm has been going for hours now, it was originaly warned for the first time in Mobile County, just north of Saraland, so this cell refuses to die off. It appears it will move through or just north of Clanton here within the hour, we'll see. I'm off to bed its freckin 1am.

I'll be monitoring this storm.....I am just east of KBMX and it's headed my way. Two new rotational signatures within the storm. New TOR for Bibb/Chilton. Two counties to go...

Rotational couplet just passed or developed over my house. Measured a gust of 42 before the wind promptly shifted. Things have calmed quite a bit now. Time for bed.
