It's now close to the new year, and being winter, it's time for an SDS Check.

Question is, how bad is your SDS? How are you holding up? Anyone critical yet? :D

Mine is getting pretty bad, but I can handle it. The almost daily snowfalls are keeping me occupied for the moment. School has been killer lately too, but that's over till the beginning of January. I occasionally am forced to watch a tornado video just to keep myself from major SDS breakdown. During the "off season" I try to learn as much as I can so every year I get better and better.

I started to suffer SDS, but then I got me a tornado generator so that keeps me tied over... :D

SDS is really kicking in for me. I'm starting to watch chase tapes and DVDs more often. What really hurts is that I probably wont be chasing next year :(

My SDS is bad....Iv been watching Reed and Joels videos for about the past week now. Im watching the Storm Chaser series (as we speak) on YouTube for the third time, and am beginning to memorize the different tornados (Ill see something on TV and be like "Hey, Thats the Mulvane, KS tornado of June 12th, 2004!). Also, I may get to go to the Convention in Feb; so Im getting rather - how do you say - irritable?

I have done some rational and irrational things in the past week or so.

The rational? I purchased the Storms of 200X box series, and have watched all of them except 2006 (maybe tomorrow??).

The irrational?

...

...

Um ... (takes deep breath)... Okay. I watched Twister, on purpose. :o:o:o There, I said it. I'm not proud of it, okay? Please, lets just pretend that I never brought it up. Can we? (WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!)

My SDS is so bad that I've found myself hanging out in the grocery store produce section waiting for the clap of thunder and the lettuce to get watered. :o

Storms of 2007 just arrived in the mail, and I've watched it four times so far, curled up with a craft brew and sucking my thumb. It's like a pacifier, but it'll never tide me over till March, let alone May.

OMG Verne! You may actaully want to call a doctor or something for that; thats pretty bad.

That made me laugh out loud for real. I loved to do that when I was little. Only I would stick my hand out as the lettuce was being watered. That is a memory I had almost forgot about.

Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories, Verne.

SDS is now just starting to affect me, the Greensburg tornado experience had been slowing it's progression but now the symptoms are beginning to worsen, I'm posting on Storm Track more, reading at least 1 weather related book per week and watching tornado videos with increasing regularity and even winterstorms are now becomming more interesting...LOL:D

Mine starts when I seriously start pondering chase sorties to the dense forests of Mississippi and Alabama on these winter events. Until then...things stay mellow and chasing is furthest from my mind. In my years of chasing, I have only had one good winter time chase so figure there is a reason for that. So until March or April rolls around, it's stay healthy...stay put... and stockpile & save vacation days. It's not that far away :)
