Since the early part of June, I've noticed the temps in the Gulf of Mexico were already into the 80s and right now, nearly all buoys are pretty much showing temps in the 84-85 range. A couple weeks ago, one buoy off the MS coast had a reading of 87. Is it normal for the temps to be this high this time of year? Just a couple degrees higher and they'll be in the high octane level that Katrina and Rita were feeding off of last year.
