• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Sprint coverage on the plains

It's nice out, so I took a stroll around town with my phone today, and the 4G is definitely there. Even with one bar of 4G, I achieved download speeds of 8-9Mbps, and uploads of 1-1.5Mbps using the Ookla Speedtest app. When I turned the 4G off, I was getting 1-2Mbps down and about 500-600kbps up on 3G (3G signal is full bars here).

Your cam streams are going to be capped by the server to 150-250kbps max, so even the 3G speeds should be fine. I found my stream to be very acceptable at 150k through Severe Studios last year, using a cheap Logitech HD webcam (I think it's a 710c, it was $35).

I'll report back once I've had a chance to test with the laptop tether.

One other thing to consider, I remember Gordon (from Maximum Signal) saying that there are NO 4G boosters yet. Any booster you get for the time being will only be for 3G.

Wilson makes 4g boosters for Verizon and T-mobile i beleive. Not sure about Sprint. http://www.google.com/products/catal...=0CIABEPMCMAI#

Pretty tough to use in a car . These are In home wireless units that require antennas to Have 75 feet separation . And they only do 700 mhz . Verizon LTE is on 700 , 800 & 1900 mhz signal rolls over depending on Tower traffic . 4G while chasing just ain't going to happen kids . Don't expect 4G rollout in Rural areas till at least 2nd quarter 2013 . We are working on making an LTE amplifier . Takes time and money . Amplifier will have to tri - band . There has never even been a tri band amplifier on the market before .

Quick question while you're in here.. I might have the money for an amp for this season, but I was wondering if there will be a direct connect adapter for the Galaxy S II or will I have to use a coupler? Under the battery cover there are three connectors (labeled R1, W1, W2), but they are slightly different from the connector on other Samsung phones.

Those are not RF ports ,Your best option is our new wireless amplifiers. Our new Maximum Signal wireless amplifiers give you as much gain as a direct connect amplifier with absolutely no physical connection required plus they do multiple devices at the same time even on different carriers . See the Review on Steve Millers blog site.
