• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Season over?

Didn't anyone tell these guys the season was over May 13?

The mods need to trash this thread and someone needs to start a "the season is about to explode in the northern plains" thread! GFS is showing almost a week straight of action in the Dakotas, with a possible triple point warm front setup for Monday.

Yes, Andrew. The model runs heading into next week are making me salivate. Would any of you guys consider a trip up to the Dakotas and Southern Manitoba? We have some very good chasing territory up here that is just begging for some chaser convergence :D

I've been to both North and South Dakota before. I've only chased in SD once or twice. I love the terrain up there and would love a shot at chasing up there. Hopefully that pans out.

The rest of the season might need this thread again. It worked pretty well post May 13, maybe it can work post June 23. Thought I'd revive it and give it a whirl.

Kinda been working locally. Had a good chase yesterday on tornadic storms (SE PA). Looking to see what tomorrow brings (I couldn't go out to the Midwest today).

I consider the bulk of the year over...when you live in the midwest the season never really ends. However I do believe it has reached that point where I wont be eyeing chaseable setups every other day. Derecho season is upon us and I don;t commit to those the same way I do a tornado chase. There will still be chases throughout the summer though, generally only 1 a month from here on out it seems.

I for one welcome the slow down, its been one hell of a year and I am ready to spend my summer drinking, camping, fishing and BBQing!

Good day all,

It appears the "main" part of the 2010 season is over for now, as of after June 27. The ridge (which has NOT been a factor since March) is finally setting up with most activity into southern Canada on most models.

The focus now is hurricane chasing, and, ofcourse, the possibility of a brief fall tornado season (I would not be suprised if we get that too for 2010).
