El Niño is still on life support

The following news indicates the El Niño is still very weak and barely meets the thresholds to be classified as such. NOAA issued an El Niño Advisory last week as described in the following article.

That's possible, but say there's an "El Nino" means nothing on its own. The intensity of it is what matters.

And also the location of it. Right now it is a El Nino Modiki, centered around the Central Pacific.

HAVEN'T seen that to be the case. Weak El Nino still seems to be major inhibitor.
