• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Cricket Broadband plan

I just now noticed that Cricket has unlimited wireless internet for $40/month with no contract. Does anyone have some experience with this? How is the coverage in OK/KS and how does it compare to Alltell? Can you use an external antenna with the USB card like other data cards?
Also, about the Alltel/Verizon switch, does anyone know if Verizon will change to offer Alltel's unlimited plan? I noticed that Verizon only has 250mb and 5gb plans. I would think that Verizon would realize how many people like Alltel's unlimited data. Thanks for everyone's input!
Also, this is my first post on here! Hello everyone!! :D

HERE is a link to the broadband / 3G data coverage map for the southern/central Plains... Doesn't sound like you get coverage on any slower data networks, so I'd say it's not really feasible for chasers. Quite limited in terms of coverage (which is probably why / how they offer it so cheap).

I can't help but note that despite their claims of "unlimited data", they do say that they can drop your bandwidth rates after exceeding 5 GB/mo. At least it doesn't sound like they actually cap your useage, but they probably drop your speed to glacial pace once you exceed that point.

Ah wow I never could find a coverage map. So yeah I'm guessing there's not an EVDO coverage outside of 3G. Pretty ridiculous about the "unlimited" thing. I've never had any experience with Cricket so I wasn't sure. I searched for reviews and didn't see alot of positive things so I figured it wasn't as good as it sounded. I rather spend $20 more for something reliable.
Now, does ANYONE know about the Alltel/Verizon change?

Sorry Mods. If you could, move this to the "Equipment" boards.
Again, I'm still a newbie. :o
