I thought I would have a little fun and throw out a date and state for tornadoes this spring. There is absolutely nothing scientific about this.

Feel free to throw out a date or two and the area you like, and at the end of the season we will revisit this thread and see if anyone happened to guess a day accurately.

I am going to say May 17th in northwest OK.

March 11th Large Wildfires in TX Panhandle
May 28th South Central KS tornadofest

March 22 - Panhandles
April 20 - Northern Oklahoma
May 12 - Cause my very last undergrad final is on this day, so I'll go with eastern Colorado.
May 29 - Kansas... why not, right?
June 15 - It just sounds right for South Dakota.

Mine are:
March 10th-Dixie Alley
March 25th-TX/OK Panhandle
April 15th-Central Oklahoma/Central Kansas
May 1st-Western Kansas/Western Oklahoma
May 25th-North Central/Eastern Kansas and Nebraska
June 20th-Central South Dakota/Central North Dakota

Hoping we get an early start to severe weather season.;)

May 1 - SC KS (Sedgewick Co) Massive Chaser Convergence Event:(

Ok OK maybe im going a little overboard with the whole sedgewick county thing but I see it like this. Sedgewick Co hasnt seen a significant/decent tornadic supercell since May 3,1999. We've had some close calls of course in 04' but none that really affected the county. This winter is similar to the winters of 91' and 92'. Both of those years turned out big for tornadoes/significant severe weather. All im saying is were past due for another decent event. Granted im a little bias since i live here but I just cant help but think this is the year. I guess time will tell^^

June 7th - central WI
April 23rd - westcentral IL
May 16th - Lincoln/Omaha, NE
May 5th and May 7th - western and central OK

March 24 - Tornadoes in SC Oklahoma
April 13 - Tornadoes in N Kansas
April 25 - Tornadoes in NW Texas
May 5 - Tornadoes in N Texas
May 15/July 1 - Lots of chasers wishing they'd taken their vacations a month earlier
August 6 - Tornadoes in N Nebraska
September 17 - Tornadoes in S Nebraska

Feb 10 - ne AR
Mar 27 - TX/OK pan
Apr 15 - w KS
May 3 - sw KS/nw OK
May 12 - n OK
May 22 - KS/MO/IA
May 29 - c KS
Jun 12 - NE/SD
Jul 10 - ND/MN

I guess I could increase my chances by listing an event for every date of the season ;)

February 7 Oklahoma and West Texas
February 8 Kansas City to Texarkana
April 1-3 Kansas/Oklahoma/Texas pushing into Missouri to Arkansas
May 29-30 Tornado Outbreak across the Midwest and Upper Plains

March 13 E Arkansas NW Mississippi SW Tennessee (Also my choice for first SPC high risk 2009) April 23 Texas Panhandle May 5 Southwest Oklahoma May 9 Southwest Kansas May 10 Northcentral Kansas May 27 Northwest Kansas Southwest Nebraska June 5 Cherry County Nebraska (How can you not at least guess Cherry County once) June 17 Central South Dakota

March 15 - south AR (first HIGH risk of 2009)
April 24 - southeast KS
May 3/4 - OK/TS Panhandle
May 15 - TX Panhandle
May 16 - west OK
May 22 - TX Panhandle (2nd HIGH risk of 2009)
May 23 - SSW KS
June 2 - west NE

March 23-Tx panhandle March 27- Elk city OK. April 4 -Wichita Falls Tx April 26- Lawton-Duncan Ok May 5 -Oklahoma City May 9 -Out break Cent. Ok to St.Louis May 18- Out break Neb. and Iowa Im favoring southwestern OK. for intense dryline action early to mid season....reason for naming cities instead of multi-state regions. (Im throwing darts at the map) lol... May will be super dynamic outbreaks with 1 EF-5 and 2 EF-4's that month.....with several lesser tornadoes. I think June 5th will shut the southern plains down for the most part.....then target Iowa, Mo. and Ind. (its coming to me now...thru the crystal ball)...lol

April 14th - Southern Plains
May 30th, Central IL as focal point.
June 7th - Southern WI
July 6th - IA/MN
August 4th - W IL/ E IA
October 2nd - Upper Midwest.
