SPC has put out an MD for Northwestern parts of North texas, just west of DFW towards Wichita Falls, and red river area. The surface front has retreated and now a dry line looks to be getting its act together. Possibilities of super cell thunderstorms and maybe a weak chance for a tornado? I'm not real good with this stuff yet but thought i'd start one

Nice 850 or LL jet...plus would be nice to see 700 really punch out. I don't see the "dryline" making a big move until after 00z....thus limiting the tornado threat until well after dark. Looks like the LLJ should swing in sometime later tonight and that might let things get interesting with forecasted CAPE for 00z in the 1000-1500 range.
Still though, I don't know if I would call this a "nice setup for severe weather. Marginal at best to me....just my thoughts.

Now as far as LA, thats a different story....things could get interesting within the next hour or so....might even be a few tors down there.

Saturday looks more interesting to me but we will leave that in the other thread.
