Lake City...wonder what’s going on...reports.

Probably using the town name Monette, AR; it's a short distance to the northeast of Lake City, and they got pummeled, too, with that EF-3.


Memphis-TV showed the supercell with hook echo moving roughly northeast to affect both the Lake City and Monette area that evening.

I don’t think so, here’s a screenshot of the ESRI storm report map for 4/2, there is only the one Wind report anywhere near there (although, in fairness, it does say “possible tornado,” but they should know by now!) The nearest tornado report is the one at Pocahontas.

Memphis NWS preliminarily believes that the Bay-Lake City-Monette EF-3 tornado travelled for almost 25 miles and for about a half-hour.

I suppose he might call it the "Bay Tornado!"
