Looks like the storms in GA are starting to ramp up significantly. As was mentioned earlier, it seems the whole system of storms is propagating southward. The area surrounding a line from Macon to Augusta is looking to be the most likely area for tornado development in the next hour or two (at least, in GA). However, this air seems to be a bit "worked over," according to the SPC Mesoanalysis.

Does anyone know if there is a confirmed tornado touchdown in Lexington Co. Georgia, Radar Lab HD a very strong inbound/outbound velocity signature at 0.5 degrees.

The cell near Gibson, GA (WSW of Augusta in EC GA) appears to be intensifying rapidly. A hook echo has developed and the SRV couplet has intensified in the last couple of volume scans. It appears as though this storm may be getting ready to produce a significant tornado (if it isn't already doing so). Fortunately, it appears to be in mostly rural areas at the moment.

Also, the long-track supercell south of Columbia, SC also appears to have the potential to produce a significant tornado. This cell has been in existence for at least 4 hours (it was the same storm that produced tornadoes near Commerce, GA).

EDIT: Tornado was reported with the storm near Columbia, SC. "COUNTY 911 OFFICAL REPORTS HOME DAMAGED AND LARGE TREES DOWN AT TRUAX ROAD IN LEXINGTON COUNTY." This report is from 4 ESE of Lexington.

The storm south of Columbia has one of the more impressive couplets I have seen in a while on all 4 tilts(its close to the radar). It just crossed I26, and while missing major population centers that part of the country still has a decent population density...

New significant supercell developing now near Aiken, SC in WC SC. This cell has rapidly developed a hook echo (it originated from a multi-cell cluster about 30 min. ago). This cell has the look of the previous monsters, so I fully expect this to go gangbusters shortly (provided no harmful cell interactions occur).

EDIT: Impressive hook echo near Aiken, SC. This cell appears to be getting nasty in a hurry.

Cell SW of Augusta, GA has an incredible velocity presentation at 0.5 degrees. This storm is likely producing a significant tornado. Looks as though there are velocity folding issues now, so this thing must be really cranking.

The outbreak is truly in progress now (as if it weren't before!). There are currently 7 potentially tornadic supercells from south of Atlanta to Florence, SC. All of these cells possess hook echos and/or strong velocity couplets. I imagine the tornado reports will be coming in fast and furious shortly.

WSR-88D at Charleston, SC shows a very significant velocity couplet/hook echo with the storm that passed near Aiken. I would be very surprised if that storm were not producing a big tornado right now.

EDIT: Tornadoes confirmed in the Augusta area.

The cell that just moved through Sycamore in Allendale Co. SC had a TVS with 152 kts gate-to-gate shear a minute ago.
