• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Looks like the weather has been active throughout the night and I noticed a few tornado warnings now just ne of Birmingham. Anybody chasing today? I know Dennis Sherrod will most likely be chasing.

Thought I would start a now thread since we have severe weather ongoing.

Edit: Date is fixed.

Very interesting circulation just north of Cedartown, GA features couplet that is now TOR warned and running 111 kts gtg. Might well be a vortex on the ground with this storm. Most of this area is settled suburb/gentelman-farmers with a fairly good population density. If the cell encounters any OFBs from the MCC, it could ripen considerably.

It looks to my (untrusted) eye like this storm is separating out of the MCC and is perhaps becoming supercellular. I have to go to work and won't be able to follow progress on this cell...

(MODs--check date on this thread headline).

Reports of damage are coming in, and the storm seems to be cycling with a new circulation to the SW.

Looks like rain wraped HP stuff... very bad for pple in the area.

This storm is riding along the front in a favorable sheared environment. It should maintain itself for a long track and is headed straight on Gainesville, Ga.

Looks like this thread is meand to be 3-15-08. Im currently in my hometown of Florence, SC. Im fueled up and ready to go. Conditions are looking more favorable for things to get nasty around here. Ill be headed out and I will try to stay in between columbia and the coast.

Thats a pretty sick looking couplet now just East of Rest Haven, looks like it may impact the Braselton/Hoschton area. This storm has turned a little to the ESE allowing it to maximize available shear.

A storm with a history of producing damaging tornadoes is heading toward Hartwell, GA (about halfway between Atlanta and Greenville). More supercells appear to be developing west and northwest of Atlanta, so the greater Atlanta area is certainly not out of the woods yet. This appears to have all the earmarks of a significant tornado outbreak.

EDIT: The major supercell near Hartwell, GA is exhibiting an incredible hook echo with radar reflectivity of >70 dBz. Also, new activity west of Atlanta is rapidly intensifying---and heading directly for Atlanta. This development is very disconcerting, given that the storm environment has already shown itself to be capable of producing significant tornadoes.

Jefferson, GA looks to be under the gun right now, impressive SRV1 scan in the hook region passing over the city. HP madness down there right now.

Nice hail spike showing up on cuts 2,3 and 4 with that storm west of ATL. I'm growing more and more concerned. Impressive hook...tornado warning soon?

Rodney

Tornado warning for my home county in douglas. I am now worried about my family, they live in Winston and the hook is right over Winston. Just got word the area just got upgraded to High Risk.

The tornado warned cell west of Atlanta heading into town has a classic hook to it, wouldn't be surprised to see a tornado. Very scary as it heads into town especially after the EF2 that affected that area last night.

TWC actually mentioning something now.
