Ugh, it's all so frustrating, isn't it? I hate this waiting game-- and I dread the idea of not chasing another 'cane until next year. I'm really craving it right now.

Still... it's only 04 October, and there's been so much good October action in the W Caribbean during the last twenty years-- i.e., Cat-4 landfalls in Mexico and Belize, etc. Something's got to happen.

Josh, you could drive up to Washington State in under 12 hours from Hell-Lay and intercept those huge winter systems coming off the Pacific NW. Granted their not named tropical systems but their just as powerful.

Rocky and I chased a winter system last October in Michigan and it was pretty fun for a get away chase trip for a couple days. I got one photo of me leaning back into the wind pretty far and when I am able to lean into some strong tropical storm force winds on Lake Superior in the U.P. of Michigan, it is what I like to call a frozen tropical storm.

Hey Doug, funny you mention the Pac NW thing, as a friend of mine in Portland has been encouraging me to do this-- and, in fact, just yesterday he alerted me to an approaching low that's supposed to generate some high winds up there.

For now, since I can only go on so many chases, I think I'll stay focused on the tropics. I really dig tropical cyclones-- not just their power but the way they're constructed, the way they look, everything. I just dig cyclones with small, concentrated cores. These Pac NW lows just aren't as cool to me, for some reason. I'm weird. :p

P.S. Easy on L.A. I know everyone hates it, but it's my home and I totally dig it here.
