Heat index values

Does anyone know if the heat index values have changed? By that I mean how they are calculated....

Yesterday I believe it was, the temp here in Omaha was in the mid 70s with upper 40s dewpoints, but yet it said the heat index was one degree higher than the air temp. not a big difference obviously, but yet i can swear in previous years, those values would not make a higher heat index. in fact i expected maybe a degree lower than the air temp. several years ago, the wind chill "chart" was changed and actually lowered the difference in values between air temp and windchill for most instances pointing towards less of an effect by wind on the feels like temp. so i didn't know if there was some tweaking done to the heat index chart, and if so it's maybe gone towards a greater effect of humidity on air temps and what it feels like outside.
