I just build a new computer and installed GRlevel3. I have updated to 1.91b, and am having issue with my license. I purchased the app a few years back and luckly kept my key. When I copy and paste the key into the software, it says its registered. All is well, When I close the app and come back and relaunch, it says that I have 21 days left of the Trial Version.

Any ideas??

Sounds like the application isn't not exiting cleanly. GR writes everything out to the registry upon exiting, so if the fact your license hasn't been saved, it indicates your GR application isn't exiting cleanly. Try uninstalling the program and then reinstalling. If that doesn't work, you might get better luck on the actual GR Owners Forums.

Run the program in administrator mode otherwise it will not save settings

JSmith, my user is administrator, so doesnt that mean I am running the app in Admin mode?
Having asked that, I did run in admin mode and installed the key, and all is well. THANKS

Was this a new build (Walt) from the ground up and are you running Windows 7? I've never experienced what you describe and I do a couple of clean installs a year, but I'm glad you were able to get it resolved.

If you've got UAC enabled, it may not run with admin rights even if your account is an admin. Try right clicking the shortcut and running it as an Administrator anyway. If you've got UAC enabled you should get a prompt asking if you want to continue.

That makes sense Skip because as soon as I get to the desktop from a clean install I turn UAC off as it serves no useful purpose for me.

No, running under a username of administrator doesn't make you administrator in UAC's eyes. Right click on the app and choose 'run as administrator'. This should take care of it, though having the issue in the first place probabl points to an incorrect settings somewhere in the computer setup that may or may not be a real issue in the future.

^^ This. I think it even says in the documentation that you need to right click > Run as Administrator the first time in order for it to work properly.

I have one account on my computer, and it is an administrator account. Why do I still have to "right click>Run as Administrator"?

I performed a clean install of Windows Pro a couple of months back and hadn't gotten around to reinstalling GRAE until yesterday. Keep in mind I have UAC turned off completely as I don't need Windows second guessing every decision I make when I press enter. I installed GRAE yesterday and noted it installs as version 1.71 from the intial program. I then entered my registration key and updated it to the current version 1.91 and did not have to reenter my registration key. I had zero issues and didn't need to take any additional steps. I guess I'm just lucky FWIW. :D
