Thought about putting this under the "Summertime Heat" thread but thought this was so significant, it deserved its own thread.
DFW is well known for its streak of 100* days in the summer, as it just about leads the nation in 100* days this side of the Rockies. This is especially the case this summer as DFW is yet again on one its infamous consecutive 100* days. Currently DFW stands at 18 consecutive days aoa 100*, putting that streak at 7th all-time for DFW. In total DFW has reached 100* 24 times in 2010.
Looking at the forecast, this streak may be in real jeopardy again tomorrow as it was today. A cool front is progged to push through the area overnight and usher in dryer and ever so slightly cooler air to the region Wednesday and Thursday. Wether the weak CAA will be enough to offset the streak will be better understood with close inspection of 850/700mb temps in the morning sounding. If DFW is able to reach 100 tomorrow and Thursday, then the streak definately looks to conitue without avail as the dominant subtropical high looks to reestablish itself over the Central US by the weekend.
