CHASE CASE #3

I would be flying SW from O'neill, NE to catch the development in Custer County NE. The road network is the only real problem I will have up here. Hopefully I really wouldnt be 100 miles away from the action at this point.

Wow, running fast now! I stayed in Salina another 20 minutes or so watching for any development south of the Russel cell. Seeing none and its continued development, I moved to intercept and was through Beloit around 4:15CDT and "with" the Glen Elder tornadic cell. I'll be following this (hopefully) cyclic supercell for the remainder of the day.

Looks like I would've been able to catch the action north of Yankton, although I might have slipped a little behind the cell in Turner Co., SD. Rest assured I would be getting back on it. And if I lose it, I could wait for the one in Holt Co., NE coming northeast at me.

I've been tracking the Belleville storm since intercepting it over by Glen Elder. Impressive wall cloud, but danged if I can tell whether I've witnessed a tornado yet. Guess I'll have to wait till the storm reports roll in to tell me whether I've scored. Nice, slow moving storm, though, with juicy inflow and no other cells anywhere near to the south to compete.

I usually remember these events after the date is posted and trying to figure this one out is driving me crazy since it seems familiar.

I picked a good area from the start and managed to get to the storm on the KS/NE boarder. I am calling this a success.

From Hebron, NE I 'meso-dropped' down to the Belleville, KS storm - it's tapping into all that flow to the south so I'd be surprised it if doesn't produce.

We are on the cell straddling the KS/OK border just south of Medicine Lodge, KS. Looks good on radar but no tornado warning. I may have picked the wrong target on this one as the storms in W OK and NC KS are producing. :(

Same here...Don't think I would have made it to either of those complexes, north or south, but maybe these "in between" storms will get their act together before the last update...and dark.
