6/6/07 FCST: ND/SD/NE/KS/MN/IA/MO

A day is only a bust if you don't get a decent storm. Those folks working the triple point today will still get storms today - and perhaps a pretty good one. Cluster of cells southest of Rapid City, SD looks posed to get the job done over the next hour or so as the left cell appears to be along a convergent boundary extending off to the northeast (note weak echo extending ne and slower, backed winds at PHP relative to points southeast). Not many roads to choose from - but incredibly scenic background for what will probably be an attractive storm. Cells there may not produce monster tornadoes, or tornadoes at all, but will likely still be aesthetic supercells when the road network allows access to them.

With cells now developing, please use the appropriate NOW thread if you wish to discuss ongoing convection. For those of us too far away from said convection who wish to discuss further possible development along the drylines, or those who wish to discuss tonight's possibility, please continue issuing this FCST thread.

FWIW, we're working towards Broken Bow in hopes of initiation along bulging / pushing dryline W of LBF.

Tornado Watch in Effect now for Western/Central SD. SevereStudios.com chase team is in Chamberlain, SD. We are attempting to setup our Live ChaseCam, should be online soon.

Strong Southerly winds to 35 mph here, humid, 85 Degrees. Strong storm in Shannon County... thinking about heading west on I -90 to Kennebec area.

I'm not saying it's a bust for everybody, but a bust here in SE SD. Looks liek we'll have a nocturnal wind event, SPC is calling for a Derecho type setup for tonight.

Ahh, the disadvantanges of being on a Fire Department. Have to stay close in case the s^^t hits the fan.
