• A student is looking for help on tropical cyclone prediction. Please fill out the survey linked to this thread: https://stormtrack.org/threads/storm-and-hurricane-intensity-prediction-survey.32957
  • After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I know of a few chasers, myself included who have opened their wireless network and labled it chasenet. Mine is open today on 180th ST between Q and Center St SW of Omaha if anyone needs to grab some quick data out this way.

David Drummond and I are heading out now.... Good luck everyone

SPC has a new mesoscale discussion up, saying a tornado watch will be issues for Nebraska/Iowa, possibly northern sections of Kansas by 2100.

Will this be a PDS Watch?

TORN warnings in Western NE

TORN warnings posted for Western NE (Aurthur, Grant, Hooker):

NWS radar out of North Platte shows those storms nicely. There is also a group of storms firing up in SW portion of NE:

I see initiation of a line of clouds in South KS between Dodge City and Great Bend.

This is like that pregnant moment before a bag of popcorn starts popping in the microwave...things are heating up!! 8) LJK.

We're in York, and between the watch, the data, the chasers, and the humidity, it feels as though something momentus is building. Almost an eerie sense of expectation, which might jinx the whole thing. 8)

I've analyzed the intersection of an outflow boundary and west-east southern boundary just west of Hastings. I expect initiation to occur near this point (as it drifts east northeast) within the next 90 minutes.

Good luck all, be safe.

Sitting at SAPP Bros on the wifi with a buch of other chasers. Looking over head you can see lower deck and upper deck sheer....gulp.

Well, this is one of the few times I have ever been at home and not chasing where a PDS was issued. The sinking feeling in my stomach gets worse every minute as I yearn to be out there in the field. Ah well, guess I will just contribute by nowcasting.
