I was thinking since there was quite a few tornadoes we should consolidate all of the official tracks and ratings and stuff onto a thread for people to reference. I'll start it off since I can only find a few, then feel free to just add on when they come out.

Please add more if/when you see them! It would be nice to have a good solid list here.

NWS Wichita Map of Tornado Tracks in their CWA

Unfortunately I can't track down any specifics of when each one was or which days each one occurred on but this brings the total 3-day outbreak count up to 31 tornadoes. DDC hasn't put out the specifics on the Greensburg tornado but that would make it 32 tornadoes. OUN just released the Sweetwater survey which brings it up to 33 tornadoes. That was rated an EF3.

...SWEETWATER TORNADO DAMAGE SURVEY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONDUCTED A DAMAGE SURVEY IN BECKHAM
AND ROGER MILLS COUNTIES ON MONDAY TO INVESTIGATE THE TORNADO THAT
STRUCK THE AREA ON SATURDAY...MAY 5TH.

HERE ARE THE PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF THAT SURVEY.

--- SWEETWATER TORNADO ---
- ENHANCED FUJITA (EF) SCALE RATING -- EF3
- PATH LENGTH -- APPROX. 7.5 MILES
- PATH WIDTH -- AVERAGE AROUND 100-150 YARDS

THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OCCURRED WHEN THE TORNADO STRUCK THE
SWEETWATER SCHOOL. AT THIS LOCATION...THE TORNADO IS ESTIMATED TO
HAVE BEEN 100-150 YARDS WIDE. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WAS TO A
METAL BUILDING THAT WAS THE SCHOOL`S MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING...WHICH
WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE ANCHORING THAT CONNECTED THE
BUILDING TO THE FOUNDATION APPEARED TO HAVE FAILED...ALLOWING ALL
BUT THE MOST NORTHERN SECTION OF THE BUILDING TO COLLAPSE. A SMALL
BUILDING THAT CONNECTED THIS BUILDING WITH THE SCHOOL`S GYMNASIUM
SUFFERED ONLY SLIGHT DAMAGE. THE GYMNASIUM...AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER
OF THE SCHOOL...SUFFERED SUBSTANTIAL ROOF DAMAGE...WHICH APPEARED TO
HAVE CAUSED THE WEST MASONRY WALL OF THE SCHOOL TO COLLAPSE OUTWARD.

OTHER DAMAGE ON THE SCHOOL PROPERTY CONSISTED OF A SMALL STORAGE
BUILDING OF SIMILAR CONSTRUCTION AS THE MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING BEING
COMPLETELY DESTROYED...A BUS BARN/GARAGE STRUCTURE SUFFERING DAMAGE
WHEN THE LARGE GARAGE DOORS BLEW INWARD...AND DAMAGE TO
TREES...POWER LINES AND FENCES.

A PICK UP TRUCK...WHICH HAD BEEN PARKED IN THE SCHOOL`S PARKING
LOT...WAS ROLLED/TOSSED APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS TO THE NORTH. A
HORSE TRAILER THAT HAD BEEN NEAR THE STORAGE BUILDING AT THE
SOUTHWEST EDGE OF THE SCHOOL PROPERTY WAS FOUND MORE THAN ONE
QUARTER MILE AWAY IN A FIELD.

JUST NORTH OF THE SCHOOL...A HOME WAS DAMAGED...AND AN OIL STORAGE
FACILITY WAS ALSO HIT. AN OIL TANK FROM THIS LOCATION WAS FOUND
APPROXIMATELY 500 YARDS AWAY.
I know there were more in OK/KS, but no specifics are available on them yet.

Actually, Alex, when you count the 1 from AMA (near Pampa), 4 from North Platte, the seven from Omaha, and the EF2 in DMX, in addition to the one so far confirmed in TOP, one so far confirmed in OUN, 1 confirmed from DDC (see the SPC deadly tornadoes page), 17 (I think those where probably all Saturday tornadoes) from ICT, and 25 from FSD, you get ~58 tornadoes for Saturday alone, with more surveys to come from OUN, TOP, and DDC.

EF0: 24
EF1: 22
EF2: 9
EF3: 3
Total: 58

Remember, that's Saturday alone. 3 EF1s, 1 EF3, and 1 EF5 have been confirmed by ICT, GID, and DDC already for Friday, and I believe 3 EF0s confirmed by OUN for Sunday.

Thanks Tony :), that's quite a fairly sized outbreak, but as we all know, there have been bigger outbreaks in the past.

Here's to hoping, that if there are going to be any more outbreaks like this, that more people can stay safe :)

Oklahoma ratings?

I know we got the Sweetwater rating from May 5, but I'm curious to see a rating from the May 4 tornado in Reed Timmer's instantly (in)famous video, as well as its sucessor that reportedly damaged at least one house. There were other tornadoes in Oklahoma on May 5 as well. What's the hold-up, OUN?

I was just talking to a friend of mine at OUN tonight about this...the continued severe weather/flooding threat has been a bigger priority. The MIC did take a drive to northwestern Ok either today or yesterday and was unable to access many of the areas affected thanks to flooded and or muddy, impassable roads. They may have to rely more on the information provided by the various EM's to get the ratings. There was an EF0 in OKC Monday morning as well as an EF0 near Seminole Sunday night.

The CWA I've been eagerly awaiting the tracks on is DDC....they've added a few to the "Greensburg" page on their website, but still no actual findings report page for the entire event....I imagine with two consecutive days of the same areas being hit, it's made it even more difficult to distinguish paths/damage intensity. One thing I do know is, the tornado after the Greensburg tornado (south of Macksville) was even larger than Greensburg, easily the largest tornado I've ever seen. Can't wait to see all the tracks from that night.
