• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hey friends,

Just wanted to make sure my chaser friends have heard about Visable wireless.

$40 a Month. They use Verizon Towers, and actually are owned by Verizon.

The Catch? Speeds are capped at 5 mbps, plenty still for chasing.

Will be testing it out this year to see how it performs!

If I had to guess, Verizon prepaid and postpaid customers will have priority during times of congestion (such as chaser convergences). Also, something to keep in mind is that Verizon has no towers in much of northwest Oklahoma and a nice chunk of western Illinois. In NW OK, Verizon customers are allowed to roam (I'm assuming on US Cellular towers), but in W IL, they are not. Much of central Kentucky is in the same boat as NW OK. If I had to guess, I would be very surprised if Verizon allowed this MVNO to roam on other towers, and as such would be limited to Verizon towers only.

I get the idea of trying to save a buck or two, but you can pay a few dollars more a month and have full speeds within the same limitations with the branded Verizon prepaid. If you use GRL3 or any kind of mapping software, that data cap will limit you. Ultimately, I've found that you get what you pay for when it comes to cellular service, and it's one of the areas where I am willing to spend the money to have the best service. I'm usually one to not spend extra money if I don't have to, but as an over the road truck driver AND as a chaser, I absolutely spend the money in this area.

Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow.

Sprint unlimited is cheap. And Mobile Threat Net for the massive chunk of area that Sprint won't work.

Of course, I agree with Drew's assessment of things. Verizon isn't going to let an MVNO have full operational privileges, especially at their price point.
