• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Now that weather is no longer my job, perhaps I dont pay as close attention as I used to, but has this been an incredibly uneventful tornado season in Texas? Seems like this season has been most active north of I-40.

I think I've gone out to look at storms (locally) maybe twice...most of those in early April!

(((snore)))

Not totally. remember back in March and April it was exteremely active along the I-20 corridor. But yes I agree between I-20 and I -40 has been pathetic. In fact the entire panhandle region and west texas is in a major drought and supercells let alone tornados are few and far between. Kansas into nebraska and Iowa have been the hotspots for may and june with a few incursions into northern oklahoma. My entire chase vacation was centered from Dodge City to Goodland to Hays to salina and Wichita. In that square is where everything went nuts for a while.

Like one of my chase buddies and I were talking about just a few days ago. If we lived in Hays we would be broke and exhausted from the non stop chasing within 200 miles. Hays has my vote for chase central thi year.

Remember that last year we got the brunt of the severe weather here. I guess Mother Nature had to pack her bags and move to the KS/NE/IA area this year.

I'm just wondering if anyone is keeping score...how this year's tornado numbers are faring against YTD averages.

I suppose this NW flow vs wandering outflow boundaries event may keep us distracted for a few days.

We have seen a record number of tornadoes this year so it is clearly alot more active than the past few years. I am suprised TX is taking a back seat this year but remember TX and OK will not be active every single year. Sometimes if you want to see a tornado you have to drive north...
