• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

    I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

    For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

    From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Top outbreak day of this century?

I'd say these are the top 2 of this century so far

#1 - May 4, 2003 outbreak with 83 tornadoes including 4 F4s and 8 F3s
#2 - Super Tuesday 2008 Outbreak with 85 tornadoes 5 F4s and 5 F3s

Even though it was far from a great chase day (except for a very lucky few), I'd have a hard time arguing against Super Tuesday.

This is a chaser board ... *narrows eyes* so why ain't you bored with us?

Trust me,I'M bored. I'm guessing you weren't trying to say I'm not a chaser so I took it how it was intended. I was actually tracking a tiny little rainstorm when I was supposed to be flying rockets last weekend. That's bored trust me.
I guess I should have[rolling eyes } said : you guys are as bored as I am.:eek::rolleyes::D:)

In terms of pure numbers for this decade, its a tossup between March 12, 2006 and the May 2003 outbreaks.. However since many of these tornados were over hills and trees, chasers who frequent tornado alley will not remember these events so well (The one cell in the alley that comes to mind is the Kansas City Kansas F4 in 2003)

In terms of no terrain issues and being in the heart of tornado alley and a near perfect time of year for chasing purposes I'd go with May 29-30 of 2004.

My votes go to 5-4-03 and 2-5-08 for the following reasons:

Sheer number of violent tornadoes (4 and 5 respectively) and pretty impressive tornado counts (i believe both were in the 70-80 range)

Not to mention both produced an 80+ mi long tornado track

Edit:
Also think March 12, 2006 deserves mention - this was a very intense compact outbreak which produced numerous large and damaging tornadoes.
