Thunderstorms--sort of.

Yes, while the US storm season ends with a BANG, it looks like things are starting up here in Baghdad. It has been raining since 6 pm with occasional to frequent, but faint sheeted lightning flashes. I couldn't hear any thunder though, even though the lightning is right over head at times.

I have seen that a couple times too in the Arizona desert, cloud-to-cloud strikes that seem pretty close illuminate the sky but the thunder is absent. I see it mostly in the crawlers. Perhaps the wind is interfering with the sound. Maybe it is a desert thing. 8)

Glad there's something to see. All clear in the Sonoran desert, that's for sure.
