• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

First I want to say that I LOVE severstudios and their support staff. I have had a few problems and received help right away.

Was their website offline on April 3rd? I tried to connect to the website to see if I was streaming but I could not connect. I was wondering if it was my connection or something on their end?

Did anyone else have problems?

I too had problems. I was out chasing and trying to stream. Tried to get on the site a few times and could not. Sounds like the same issue.

Brian and Dan,

Thanks for your questions and concern.

To be clear, issues accessing the "public" website and streaming issues are NOT related. The streaming system and the website servers are housed in 2 completely different locations and they only talk to each other to list who is Live and how many viewers each stream has.

That said, the streaming system worked flawlessly for nearly 25 chasers on Sunday and we were feeding our media partners without interruption.

To continue to provide the best experience for the public when they view SevereStudios.com, James Skivers and my tech team were busy Sunday adding servers, load balancers, and increasing bandwidth caps. We had thousands of visits every second and unfortunately some people on certain ISP's reported not being able to load our site for a few hours late Sunday afternoon.

Fixing the problem required us to have that much traffic, however, so we could see where the weaknesses were and determine the proper course of action to remedy.

Again, I just want to reiterate that there was no outage for our media partners, which is one of our highest priorities.

If you still are having issues streaming, Dan, please email support/at/severestudios.com or call 866-WX-LIVE1 and let us know what error you were receiving.

Thanks,
Kory

Thanks for replying Kory! I thought it might have been my ISP. My encoder was still connected and streaming I just personally could not confirm it. I am planing on upgrading to a media account very soon.
