The wife, myself and Buddy will try to make it... We are looking forward to meeting a lot of you that we mostly see headlights and taillights of.. LOL
We have never been to one of these chaser get togethers before but it sounds like it's gonna be fun!

The picnic at my farm here in Piedmont sheduled for this Sat. May 14th
has been cancelled due to uncertainty about tomorrow's conditional severe threat in Tx. and because my wife has apparently been ill the last couple of days. The picnic is tentatively on for the following Sat. May 21st at 1pm. Please rely to me at [email protected] if you know you will be able to attend starting Wednesday and preferably before the
1730 Day 2 outlook on Friday...As of now, the chances of anything severe
within the KS., OK., TX., area for 5/21 does not look promising...that may
change and I'll have a better handle on this by Wednesday or so.
As before, I will supply the food and drinks, a 5 dollar per person
donation would suffice, and some good storm video, edited to about 15
min. or so. All are welcome to attend but no alcohol please out of respect
for the underaged and my wife.
VERY IMPORTANT: Please someone send me Linda Wade's email and/or phone number concerning May 28th! I greatly encourage all who can do so to please show up for the Wakita get together on the 28th if its still on.
I will tell you more once details become clearer.

Hello everyone! This is my very first post on Stormtrack, my account was just activated today.
I leave with my girlfreind and chase partner May 27th to June 7th for our chase vacation. We will deffinately be down in Wakita for the picnic, weather permitting of course. If Helens there, the weather can wait. :lol:Mike Hollingshead

Is the ST picnic an annual thing? Because I'd love to come to this year's except I graduate that morning...in New Mexico...which is easily an 8 hour drive away.
But if it's annual, then maybe next year or something...

Well, Rocky's picnic at his house is annual. The gathering in Wakita is a special event to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the making of "Twister".

They've updated the Wakita website. It looks like the party is on this weekend. I'll be there unless there is a good chance of severe weather (unlikely this season)

I'm looking forward to the Wakita gathering, too. Seems like a great place to commiserate over the season so far and plan for the second half. My impression is that the Weathervine team is planning to attend (barring severe weather) and a few others who chased around us earlier this month.David Schuttler

Yeah, this way the odds of having one ruined by a crappy setup (that everyone will drop everything for and run to chase) is that much less. Four scheduled picnics is better than one, when you're trying to get chasers to actually show up.John Diel

Well, I'll be out at Wakita tomorrow afternoon. I probably won't get there until after 1:00 or so, but I would certainly like to get some video while there. Of course I'll be representing my Station as well.
