• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Is the chase season "over"?

Great input guys! Bob I know EXACTLY what you are saying. Last year I took everything out and we had a great day :) My wife is great and understanding and loves that I have a crazy hobby (I know I am very lucky). Maybe I will keep just the basics in the car :)

Anecdotal accounts to make the rule. It rains in Florida in the "dry season", but that doesn't mean the wet season is year round. Seasons indicate a high percentage. IMO...chase "season" is about statistical numbers and percentages, and while the high plains, the south east, and even the mid-atlantic can still see seasonal spikes...it is not "chase season". Aside from the weather itself...also look at the number of chasers out there. Tour groups are shut down or shutting down, out of region chasers have stopped traveling long distances, etc. There is just too much to me that says it's over.

This doesn't mean you can't chase, and won't get stuff, but we have to look at it in a quantitative way. Otherwise....it's not a 'season' at all.

well said Jason! there is always going to be exceptions, especially with weather. to me I always consider chase season done at the end of June. I guess maybe a better term to use for this topic would be "tornado season", as that is what most people want to chase and what the tour groups make their money off of. if there is a storm that is close than i will still go out in july or august, but i don't expect or look for big tornado days anymore. not saying there still won't be, but i'm not taking a week off to go out chasing this time of year
