May His great Name grow exalted and sanctified
in the world that He created as He willed.
May He give reign to His kingship in your lifetimes and in your days,
and in the lifetimes of the entire Family of Israel,
swiftly and soon.
May His great Name be blessed forever and ever.
May His great Name be blessed forever and ever.

Sigh. We'd corresponded about meeting up this spring. Guess that will have to wait. My prayers for Sue Ellen and the whole family.

I've followed this thread since it basically started and the recent turn of events was indeed a shock. I never knew Eric in person but knew him online for, it's gotta be at least a couple years... he seemed like a very good person, it's unfair something like this has happened to him... but at least he now has front row seat to mother nature's spectacle... rest in peace Eric, you will be missed and I will think of you when I'm out there under the stormy skies.

To Eric's family, my deepest and sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. Although the body may be gone, his soul will never die.

Although I never had the chance to get to know Eric, I wish i would have. The amount of response when we all heard he was sick was overwhelming and from the stories i've heard he was a great guy to know! My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. RIP Eric...you'll be missed

My deepest and most sincere condolences to Sue Ellen, Eric's kids, and his family.

Eric's love, passion, and enthusiasm for all things the sky has to offer was limitless. I only met him once at the chaser convention several years ago and we shared several conversations about all things science. He was one of the most sincere and caring persons I have ever met.

I do think Eric has already met the Creator and is receiving the science lesson of all time. His body may now be empty, but his spirit will be with us every time we look up and out into the sky. He will be enjoying the ultimate front row seat to the phenomena he loved so much in life.

Eric, rest in peace. Enjoy the eternal chase, my friend.

Eric will not be forgotten. I will be praying for his family during this difficult time. If we could have a chapter for Eric on the Stormsof2010 Charity DVD that would be nice way to remember him and his love for chasing.

Eric had so much passion when it came astronomy, he often spoke of meteor showers and his love for watching them. Tonight, in honor of Eric I will step outside and gaze at the stars above, something Eric loved.

Rest in peace, Eric. From what I knew of him, he seemed like a very good guy. We used to PM each other quite frequently after chase days and shared our stories. He was always enthusiastic about whatever he talked about.

He'll be missed by all.

This is the first time I've checked in for quite a while and I just got done reading the entire thread. I'm pretty shocked and saddened about the unfortunate events.

I never knew Eric but as others have mentioned, it sounds like he was a great man with a great passion for life. It always seems like the good ones get the bad end of deals.

RIP to Eric and my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I just got wind of Eric's passing. I feel stunned and very sad. As someone else here mentioned, his death was not unexpected, but as long as there is life, there is hope, and the finality of this news leaves me feeling hollow. Eric was a decent man, one of those people who, in this frequently cantankerous community, chose kindness, courtesy, and friendliness as his guideline for relating to others. He was passionate about storms, and about many other interests as well. I had hoped this year to connect with him in person instead of via email, and talk shop with him about carnivorous plants as well as storm chasing. His wife has lost a beloved husband; I and others here have lost a friend; and all of us have lost a very good, gracious man.

My prayers are with Sue Ellen and family.

This is very sad, and I'm so sorry for the family. Will certainly have to send as much good karma their way as possible.

In recent years as the hobby/business has grown we've seen more unfortunate circumstances befall chasers and/or chaser's families. In some way I wish there was a way to honor and remember Eric and other fallen friends of the chaser family so they can be remembered and honored for there contributions. Eric certainly seems like he made many friends and impressed a lot of others. He should be remember for that in more than just a thread here on the forum.

I also met Eric this past August at a chaser get together. We shared a great conversation about weather, storm chasing and his most recent trip to China. The entire Flescher family is in our thoughts and prayers!

I found out about Eric's passing through a text I received while at work. Not the outcome we all hoped for. Whatever/however he believed, I hope he's found it and is at peace.
