Here is the traditional thread for posting to locate chasing partners. Please do not post your address or phone number openly for your own safety/security. Those can be exchanged privately via email or PM.

Hello All.

I am looking for a chase partner in the Manhattan, KS Area. I plan on chasing all over the country in 08. This past year I made it to TX, NM, OK, KS and NE. In 08 I would like to do those in addition to SD,ND, Canadian Plains and parts of the SE US. If anyone with in 2 hours of Manhattan is interested please contact me via Private Message.
Thanks

Joshua Jones.

I am a new chaser looking for an experienced chase partner or two for the 2008 chase season. I am from Fairfield; about 30 miles southeast of Hastings, or about 60 miles south southeast of Grand Island. If anyone is interested, feel free to PM me.

Thanks:)

I am also a new chaser looking to get out there in the central plains during the 08 season. I am based in N. California and plan on flying out when a more experienced chaser needs a partner to help out. I have a blog listed below that tells a little about me and would gladly work hard for whoever I team up with.

I'll add my name to the list of those looking for folks to chase with this coming year. I've been chasing for the past 4 years and relocated to NW Missouri this summer. I'm hoping to find some folks in this area to team up with. Normally, I can do afternoon chases close to home during the week, and can extend further on weekends. Most of May will be free this year.

I can provide a vehicle, laptop, scanner, maps and modest forecasting abilities if needed :D.

Hello,

If anyone in the Eastern side of NM and Western side of TX (Clovis, Portales, Amarilo, Lubbock, etc) please let me know. I'd love to start meeting some people who are into weather like me and start chasing or learning more about the weather.

I’m located in Pittsburg, (Southeast) Kansas, I gave several people rides in 2007 mostly from Oklahoma (Tulsa / OKC) due to the direction of travel to the typical targets along I-44 / 40, But I chased TX, OK, KS, MO, AR, NE, IA, and SD this year.

Tulsa, OKC, Wichita, KC, Springfield < Common stops along the way

All I ask is that you are over 18! And you can put up with the constant work in progress computer system.

Please PM / E-mail let me know.
I have a small mailing list on my site that local chasers use that’s a very good way contacts me or a few other chasers that will give you a lift.

Also I’m open to a partner / car pool with GAS! The way it is.

I am an experienced chaser looking for 1-2 chase partners for '08 (my regular chase partner can't go). I have all the equipment in my chase vehicle like Baron's MTN w/ GPS mapping, mobile WIFI, etc.

I will be based in Lincoln, NE but I chase the entire tornado alley in the U.S. & Canada. PM me if interested or have any questions, but please only serious inquiries.

I will be chasing full-time in '08 from April to June. I realize that others can't chase continuously for 2-3 months so I'm very flexible in that they can pick and choose which week or weeks to chase.

Thank you.

Hello! I’m Robert from Salt Lake City, Utah. I am a new chaser looking for someone to chase with this upcoming 2008 season. I would hope that I could make it possible for someone with experience to be able to chase by helping offset the various expenses of chasing, especially with today’s gas prices and with the long hours of driving. I have a very flexible schedule, and if the trip needs to be extended to see some exciting weather, you can bet I’ll be up for a longer trip. I can meet up with someone in Colorado at somewhat short notice or have someone meet up with me in Utah if you’re coming from the other way; again I’m flexible and I’m willing to travel anywhere the storms lead to. I’m hoping to purchase a new car this spring but there are no guarantees at this time, and don’t feel my 333,000 mile van is up for anything more than Utah to Colorado. I will be at the Chaser Convention in February if anyone would like to meet me first, or send me a message.

Hi, all. I'm based in Wichita, have a number of years experience chasing/spotting & reporting on severe weather, this will be my third active chase season. It's going to be a much bigger challenge to get out this year than in the past two, for a number of reasons I'll be happy to talk about in PM or email. But having a couple of chase partners in the area or along the road that would help with gas will certainly help.

As for the things a lot of people seem to want to know before making a decision...I chase in a Grand Caravan, so we have plenty of room. I have all the toys (maybe too many...nah), and an extra inverter so you can plug in your laptop. I chase for a local TV station, so we have no problem with nowcasting help.

Ah, I could go on and on...but if you're interested, you'll PM me ;-)

Regardless, I hope you have a great 2008 season!

Chase partners for '08

Hi everyone, I'm looking to be more active this season with chasing, and I'm open to having a chase partner along. Ideally I'm looking for some others who prefer to convoy during a chase to get better results, or for some people in Colorado who'd like to get into the plains but prefer not to drive. I'm also interested in just making contact with others to buddy up with out in the field.

I'm based in south Denver, 33, and drug/alcohol free. I chase in two vehicles: a 1998 Toyota 4Runner, and, if you and I both are feeling particularly insane, a 2007 Eclipse Spyder GT convertible. I already know the risks but it's useless to resist the idea of chasing in this car on isolated-event days! I'm an excellent driver, and have the equipment covered: wireless internet on the cell phone, GPS, a laptop, and an HD camera. My weakness, however, is in the short-term forecasting. I'm rusty, but have a decent budget, so if you have some sharp forecasting skills, I'll be happy to cover more of the expense.

I'd prefer to get to know folks before making decisions, so now seems like the best time to get that process started. I can be reached via email via my profile here, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi all. I'm recently moved to Norman, Oklahoma and as such I no longer have a committed chase partner due to the distance. As such I'm looking for anyone from this area who needs a chase partner for the new year. I have 5 years of chasing experience and would love to take anyone along from new guys to grizzled veterans.

I own a 99 Ford Explorer and a 2002 Explorer Sport Trac which is/will be equipped with just about everything you need. You are of course required to split the costs of gas and such. Anywho, I won't do this without first meeting in person to get a gauge on things. Either way, get at me via PM or e-mail if interested!

I can take up to 4 people at a time with me this year. You must submit a 2 page essay with a photo (have to make sure your not too ugly for the camera), sign and have notarized a 3 part liability and media release as well as a non-disclosure and non-compete form. Submit to a criminal background check and driver records check which must both be clear. You will also need to submit to and pass random urinalysis testing for illegal substance use.

You also must have a clean posting history on ST with no past infractions, a web site showing at least 10 tornadoes that YOU caught yourself and promise not to claw at the dash and scream like a cheerleader the next time I drive up next to a tornado or get cored by baseball hail.

Additionally, you must have no spouses or girlfriends/boyfriends that will be calling or text messaging you every 10 minutes, you must pay for all the gas, including that induced by Allsups Burritos and all motel rooms, and I MUST stay at LaQuinta where we can park next to the room and back up to the door.

No history of going in to seizures around strobe lights, as I have lots of them and really like to use them to piss off other chasers at every opportunity to makes sure everyone knows I am there and looks at me. No females who's name starts with M, no married females either. If you have a fear of lightning, this isn't the trip for you, as I get struck at least once or twice a year.

Farting in the chase vehicle WILL happen, and gas masks are not provided, and sometimes the windows will be locked just for entertainment value. You will also have to listen really old twangy country music on the way to the target area and sometimes dirty comedy on XM. There will be no stopping for pee breaks except short and sweet on the side of the highway. This goes for the females too, if you can't squat and squirt this trip isn't for you. This is adventure after all! TP is provided (as long as the motel room left an extra roll the night before). Also, no aversions to fast food exclusively. This is STORM CHASING, who has time for sit down meals? I think that covers it, but you agree to a blanket agreement to anything else I might come up with in the meantime or on the chase.
