I haven't planned any trips beyond two to the plains in April and May. The one in April is baseball-related from the 17th to the 20th (base is Wichita) and the other one is in May for KSU graduations (May 15-18, base is in between Manhattan and Kansas City). I am also thinking of planning a trip to Denver for May 23-25 (originally to watch the Colorado Rockies, but I won't buy the tickets until I need to). This should leave me open for a separate period or two for a weekend chase (in addition to the three periods above), unlike last year (planned a mid-May vacation for graduations and a wedding) which I sat out the May 4-5 event.
Unfortunately, short-notice trips between Phoenix and Denver have gone up $100-$200 from last year, but this puts more cities as options to fly to (Albuquerque, Amarillo, OKC, Wichita, Lubbock, Dallas, and KC). I will PM people in this thread and whoever PMs me depending on where I head. It has to be a moderate (or high) risk with agreement of convective mode for me to fly. Driving to a TX panhandle spot on a Saturday is also attainable, so I can meet that way if I choose to drive that far.
Also, I can nowcast on weekends (and some nights, but I plan on using my Diamondback season tickets as much as possible) I don't fly out to an area (which I did on May 5 last year). I only use NWS radar online (and streaming video when provided), but I am good at picking rotation in storms with only that information (using velocity and reflectivity scans), as I used to study radar images during my time in Kansas. That's also the best asset I can bring as a chase partner.
