Interesting that both the GFS and UKMO develop what could be the Atlantic's first named system next week. Both models have latched on to this trend for a number of runs now.

Both models show development west of the Cape Verde Islands. with then a WNW track. This could well be one to watch ..

What a weird weather year so far. Not even a depression yet? Tornado season was mild compared to the past few seasons. All of these have good benifts of course as it has/is minimizing the lost of property and life. Of course all it takes is one event to turn that around so hoping and praying for some nice Cat 5s in the open ocean and out of shipping lanes.

I don't know if I buy into it yet...but consistent model runs are good. I wouldn't put any plans into action yet. I hope the Bermuda high is still in a good position for a Carolina's storm....so much easier when tropical systems are closer to home.

well, it's got a number, bit more development and soon should have a name. .

..
AT 600 AM AST...1000 UTC...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWO WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 14.4 NORTH...LONGITUDE 28.6 WEST OR ABOUT 280
MILES...455 KM...WEST OF THE SOUTHERNMOST CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.

61% in 24 hours...that's not too promising. I'm loosing interest already.

Fish storms do nothing for me...unless they are Cat.5

Actually... it is what is forecast to form behine TD2 that has my interest right now ... TD3 (if it comes to pass)

The models seem to be fixing on TD2 dissapating while a new depresion, TD3, to form behind TD2 and take over the show.

TD2 is still holding in there. In fact I would not be surprised to this this named as Ana in the next update. A look at Sat images shows good convection and structure over the last 6 hours.

Models still forecast TD3 to be the main show ...
