95L looks almost like a TD right now...similar to Marco in 2008. Not situated in a very good environment that is conducive to development.
My bets are on 96L. Different model runs have been indicating development for the past day or two.

I've been watching this little system for the last few days and it does look kinda neat but really I think the air is to dry to its north and west for it to be able to do anything much.

I Agree. WV shows lots of dry air to the west and north of the system. Recent vis is less impressive.

Geez.... This morning's TWO had "near 0 percent" chance of Invest 95L becoming a tropical cyclone. This afternoon's 4pm TWO reversed course by indicating 60% prob of tropical cyclone formation for tropical storm force winds possible in a parish in Louisiana. Wierd stuff, considering that the IR appearance doesn't appear much improved from this morning's "near 0 percent" -- I don't think I've seen such a turnaround in back-to-back TWOs.

So it looks like the center of circulation is already making landfall in Terrebonne Parish, LA. I don't know what to make of this system. There is not much in the way of precip in it and if it is true that tropical storm force winds could be sustained I wonder why they have chose to hold off naming it. The strongest winds I am seeing right now are just off shore at 22-25mph according to a few buoys in the Terrebonne Bay.

Very strange indeed.
