We have just reviewed and approved 146 new members who have signed up in the past ten days... a sign of the runup towards spring.
I also fixed a problem in the system where members with accounts less than 30 days old had their posts end up in a "moderation queue". This was unintentional -- we fully allow newly approved members to post everywhere except in Target Area, where posting requires 30 days of membership in order to become acquainted with the strict rules there (exceptions are granted for active meteorologists, especially those who registered at a NOAA address).
My time has been rather limited most of this winter but I do intend to get that Stormtrack logo contest back in gear shortly... it has been languishing since November. I also believe we are about due to bring a new moderator on board, which will be good timing for this spring... I will check the procedures for this that we laid out last year and make the arrangements this month if we're close to the date.
