From what I've gathered, Stormtrack's admin, Tim, is dealing with some personal issues and will be away from Stormtrack indefinitely (meaning for an unspecified amount of time, not permanently I hope). Even if we get that email address working (I'm not sure if its incorrect or if its down), there probably won't be anyone on the other end handling it for awhile. Although it may be too late to get that money back, I would hold off on buying any advertising or anything else directly from Tim (like books or software) until we hear back from him. There's not much the staff can do about this. We just need to be patient and wait for him to return.

So what you are saying is kiss my money goodbye. You have no idea what will happen. Sorry he left no one in charge that could take care of business. That is not a good resolution to my problem.

There is one guy running this ship. I'm just relaying what we know. See if you can put a stop on that money order, check, or credit transaction, but otherwise you'll just have to wait for that order to go through or be refunded. Sorry I can't be more help.

See, this kind of crap is what pisses me off. Tim needs to decide what he's going to do. I hate to hear that he's having issues, but as an admin he needs to step up and tend to his obligations here or get someone that will. Gordon, good luck in getting your money back. Tim, I can only speak for myself, but my respect for you is going away with each passing day. Again, I hate to hear about the personal issues, but the lack of involvement lately is a big concern.

Skip....Is there any way to pull down the site advertising stuff, or put up a notice saying the site is currently not accepting advertising so others don't get bit the same way Gordon has? As long as it stays "as is", this can keep happening.

Gordon, contact PayPal. They have been very good in the past with helping me resolve issues like this. I really hate it that you were trying to support Storm Track, and felt it was a good vehicle to advertise your business, and you end up having to go thru this. Please do keep us informed as to the outcome.

Eventually, this will all come to a head. Either Tim will come back, or he will give someone the ability to "run" these areas of the website. If one of those things don't happen, the day will come when a migration to another site will be required. I was a member of a site where the site owner passed away. Nobody could get into anything, and eventually we knew the site would go dark. We had to scramble to save all we could and get the word out while the site was still up, and migrate everything to another site. If Tim just "never comes back", I see that as a possibility here....

I can't do anything with the site's advertising. I might be able to put up a notice at the top of the forum though.

Yeah...this length of time isn't just neglect, I think something is up with TimV himself. Even if it was just family issues, he'd stop by and disclose he'll be away for some time. It would be a good idea (if possible) to put some sort of notice up about advertising, site maintenance, etc. to whatever capacity the staff can do...even if it's a thread.

At first, I was against the "Where's Tim V." discussions, but I have to say, I guess this is an absolutely valid reason why so many people are concerned.

Figuratively speaking: Tim, I totally understand that you have a need to be away, but you owe it to Stormtrack to turn the admin reins over to a trusted agent while you take care of personal business. The reins will be ready for you when you're ready to return.

I hate to say it, but it would not surprise me if, one day, I went to access Stormtrack and received a "Server not found" message. That would be a pity. Hopefully, things will get worked out for the better.

I wonder too...if the current advertisers will have more exposure than what they paid, and who else may have been affected?
