After looking at data today, I am more impressed with eastern New Mexico. There will be backed surface and 850 mb winds, CAPE 1000-1500, and SRH of 200 per the 12 Z NAM. Storms should form off the mountains and move eastward. The 500 mb winds are weak but are from the SW and will increase into the evening. Still awaiting the 12Z GFS. I am currently at The Big Texan in Amarillo getting ready to meet Jason Persoff and Robert Balogh for breakfast. If we played New Mexico, going for the Nebraska target tomorrow would be very difficult. I like the parameters better for Nebraska except probably veered 850's.
For anyone in this area not planning on chasing southcentral Nebraska, I would definitely recommend playing New Mexico, maybe just west of Tucumcari.

Jody R is out today on his way down to Clines Corners on the 285 looking at the 1st tower going up in Estancia .....
He'll probably head east on I40 after that - interesting how SPC has changed the SLT 3 times today within the last few hours
good luck to everyone out
