5/19 Chaser Convergence

LOL dude I'm 29 years old. "Immature kid"??? Seriously lol. Because I point out the fact, and it is a FACT, that the only thing Sean is guilty of is passing in a no passing zone I'm immature now and don't know any better. Yeah it is pretty unfortunate that I recognize something for what it was and not for what it could have been if the worst case scenario came to fruition. Personally I like to deal in reality. You should come back to it and give it a try.

Get this. I took my dog out around the apartments without a leash the other day. Realists would recongize this as a minor infraction, but other people that enjoy drama and dealing in the hypothetical could easily point out how some little girl playing dress up could have come running around the corner, scared my dog and he could have gnawed her face off. So was me taking the dog out without a leash a tragedy???
NO, BECUASE IT DIDN"T ACTUALLY HAPPEN! Sean didn't kill a bus load of nuns when he passed in a no passing zone, so quit acting like he did and GET OVER IT.

wow, is this for real? did you have any government classes?

Yes, you are right, you do not have to obey any laws that you don't want to, but you will face enforcement/penalty (as explained by statute) if caught. The decision of the ridiculousness of a law is that of the court, not the citizen.

I have one good point and one bad point to shift this.

1. Wherever we are chasing, given by the one or 100's, we keep a eye on storms, at every angle, everywhere it appears now, to report if there behavior goes bad and protect communities until science catches up..

2. There is no widely know standard of ethics for chasing. We all know it's illegal to speed, but yet we all have and probably will keep doing it yet from the time i've chase, Me and 90% of chasers do SLOW DOWN to 20 or less mph around chasers pulled off to the side.

My solution- there is none unless you can mass attach at minimum a $200 to chasing.

Think of Street racing. If you are racing, your car gets towed, license suspended, and god knows what court costs and if you get your car back.

Now in most states have a very harsh law to SPECTATING a street race! Which from personal experience sucks. Cops swarm in, and don't matter what your doing or who you are, $200 spectating ticket and some states a court summons. Guilty as charged i was for watching one once.

Now i know by that picture in earlier posts, how easy it would be to ticket every single car on that road if say there was a law against spectating a severe storm to non-official capacity!

Also earlier said, its hard to prosecute and i'm 90% sure you get it dismissed by mail even if you fought it.
I won't take issue with all of your claims - although I could. Since you are a n00b on ST, I'll cut you some slack.

The answer to your question concerning the existence of chase ethics can answered by googling a man by the name of DR Charles 'Chuck' Doswell. He is widely known and read by most chasers. Apparently and unfortunately - not by all. Certainly not by most yahoo chasers and locals who decide to become a chaser for a day. I consider him a basic read and background for this hobby.

Furthermore, I am NOT satisfied that overnight - with much provocation from the media that has all-too-quickly shifted sides against chasers - and have decided that mileage can be made up for lost viewers by throwing the entire chase community under the bus conveniently on their failing network - to let it all go without a real fight. We can go to other networks and throw them under the bus just as fast, and still might. Other networks would probably like a counter-argument - since they are all engaged in making drama where none existed before.

I wouldn't be so quick to take the attitude to start begging the courts mercies when the jury for this matter isn't quite in yet.

It is true that more eyes on the skies is far better than few eyes. Especially with the training and knowledge this group has accumulated and shares. Everyone on the Plains has already benefited from what chasers have and will continue to contribute. We are talking about doctors, lawyers, etc - just to mention a brief cross-section of many different backgrounds of people that have been violated and pigeon-holed as a group and the liberties placed in the balance of the public justice carried out by one media organization that ultimately doesn't know what is right for itself. Or anyone else for that matter - which all-too-obvious now (rant, rant, rant,...). But the eyes they provide are often timely in their reports and get to the right spots before the action begins. It should be apparent at this time - that if one should see a gathering of chasers nearby - than a severe storm and tornado may well be imminent even before the sirens go off. Just a well-known but often overlooked fact.

This has just begun; what is past is now the prologue...

Out of curiosity, I did a search for Sean Casey on facebook and did not come up with any result for the TIV Sean. A friend of mine had a photo with him and in the photo description, his name which had been a clickable link in the past, is no longer clickable.

As far as the actions seen in the video, I have to agree with the folks that are condeming that type of driving and behavior. It's just plain dangerous and if things like that continue, someone will get hurt or killed. And if the chasing community can't restrain themselves, my guess is the politicians, lawyers and insurance companies will get involved. I only storm spot locally near my hometown for our county and I have seen the chasing groups move thru and to be honest , it reminds me of a traveling circus out of control.

Two questions, and sorry if it's been brought up before (230 posts...Wow)

1) Does anyone think that Discovery would terminate the contract based on the TIV2's wreckless driving? I would suspect not (lots of money running on it), but I'm wondering if it would even be enough for Discovery to cancel the contract if they actually wanted to.

2) Has anyone checked who actually was driving the TIV2? I know Sean is rightfully taking the heat of this situation being the head of the TIV2's operations and often tells the driver what to do (remember the driving backwards on the interstate bit couple years back). But are we rightfully giving the true driver his just dues with this as well as the rest of the vehicles documented in behaving badly?

I don't think Discovery would pull the plug unless they actually caused a crash... anyone remember Billy Lane?

1. I doubt they would cancel the contract since they already have soo much money invested. Not to mention the fact that it is not only the TIV but their own film crew driving wrecklessly. Now it could effect working next year with the TIV crew since they also have the Dominator. What I could see them doing is telling their crew to stop that crap before they do hurt or kill somebody and open the company up to major lawsuits. The execs want their show but do not want bad publicity or financial and legal issues. Thats why it was important to not only call them out here but send email to TDC to let them know how their crew was driving. I do think the threat of cancelling would alter Seans thinking and behavior. For some nothing speaks more than your wallet.

2. We know Sean wasnt driving since he was in the "turrett" but it was he himself who said he could se better and had radio communication and would give the all clear to the driver who as we have all seen on the shows goes where Sean tells him. Even backward down I-70. It was Sean in charge of that vehicle. No doubt and even if it wasnt it is his vehicle and he is in charge so if they are acting dangerously it is his responibility to end it. But instead he has continually defended their actions to this day. Incredible and arrogant.

Not much left to say on this thread since it is falling on deaf ears.

I do want to thank everybody for the PM's I have received in support. It has been an overwhelming response.

I did a face book search for "Sean Casey" and before I clicked the search button to pictures came up under the search option. One was a racer named Sean I believe and the other was Casey. If you do the actually search you will get thousunds of results for Sean casey. Just type in his name (don't press anything else) and look for his picture below.

I just signed up to facebook just to send Sean a message about the video so I will probably be blocked soon even though I was nice in my response. I don't think he want's to keep reading e-mails about his video. If he does respond (I doubt he will) I will post it here.

I've been deleting friends that like reposting the video ....

Interestingly, it seems as though Sean Casey closed his facebook account. Anyone else notice that?

Ah, nevermind... apparently he blocked me because he didn't like me calling out their reckless behavior.

Once was probably enough, more than that I recommend counseling or BP pills

I just came across this video...I don't know if it's been posted yet or not here and I'm not going through all the pages to check. :)

But yeah, it looks like another one with the TIV up there passing in a no passing zone over a hill, but then there are some other vehicles passing as well and one of them forces on-coming traffic onto the shoulder to avoid a head on collision. Pretty irresponsible behavior here just to catch a storm.

What in the hell does government classes have to do with anything I said? And btw, it's funny you should ask because I majored in political science.

You guys can cry and moan as much as you want about Sean passing in a no passing zone. I know he could have killed a bus full of orphans, but it didn't happen, so how about getting over it. I think everybody got the point after 23 pages.

Everybody but Sean. He still does not get it.
