2005 NWIASpotter's Forecasting Contest (WEEK 30)

This forecasting contest will be both a short term and mid-term forecasting contest. You will be given 5 cities from throughout the US. You will forecast the highs and lows for days 1-3 (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.) Then you will forecast the highs only for days 4-7 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.) All entries are due by 11:59 EDT on Saturday July 30 for this contest.

This contest is held throughout several weather boards, those including J Squared Weather, Storm2k and TalkWeather.

Results will be posted on the J Squared Weather Forum consistantly throughout the week at this location. And I will also try to post results at all other boards as well...

This will be the first week in the August competition... Good luck to all who participate...

I've thought about that... It would be an interesting idea, or the NWS forecast for those areas! Might be something to do in the future...

Oh and it won't take as long once you get used to it... Today I did mine in around 30-45 minutes.

Yeah it would be neat to enter the TWC and NWS into the whole mix. Then of course you would probably need a scrip to add everything up and get rankings. Actually I took two hours because I wanted to be thorough and look at other factors which may affect the tempature.

9 contestants in this weeks contest, plus I have added a 10th! The National Weather Service, I took their point forecast for all 5 cities early this morning around 1 am. So this week we'll not only see how good we are against ourselves, but against the pros too! Good luck everyone...
