• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Severe thunderstorms are moving into my area. It is now 3 a.m. Widespread wind damage is being reported across Southeast Missouri from this line. Winds over 70 mph have been reported with damage to buildings and vehicles. Widespread power outages are being reported.

We are sending out spotters out in Ballard and McCracken County. LATE for spotters!

In addition to this tornado warnings are being issued across portions of the Memphis area.

So far I have picked up 1.80 of much needed rainfall.

my bad, i didn't notice beau had already started a NOW thread!

might as well go ahead and get this show started. MD is out concerning issuance of possible TOR watch with threat for strong tornados across mainly W KY, W TN, and N MS. the sun is now out here in bowling green and the atmosphere is begining to get itself together across the area.

The 12Z skew-T for KBNA is absolutely insane. Excellent turning with height, very moist and loaded with buoyancy. Very good chance of large, destructive hail in Middle TN. KBMX(Birmingham) and KFFC(Atlanta/Peachtree City) both have great turning of winds with height. I know they are currently getting ready to issue a TOR Watch, possibly PDS. This setup is close with April 7th of lasy year. The KBNA site is the star in the center of TN.

Might make more sense to have a separate NOW for the SE vs Great Lakes since these are very different setups (and it'll be a while yet before a NOW is valid up north.)

I like to keep away from posting text quotes or links to NWS products, but IWX seems to be taking this very seriously:

...DANGEROUS SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK APPEARS IMMINENT...

...EXTREME HIGH END DAMAGING WIND EVENT W/POSSIBILITY OF LONG LIVED SIGNIFICANT TORNADOES LATE THIS AFTN/EVENING ONCE STORMS GET GOING.

SPC has a pretty heavy MCD out for that area... with another MCD just going into effect for western MI. VIS shows some pretty aggressive Cu developing, with little to no CINH and building instability... combined with 60-80knts of effective 0-6km shear, and 0-1km effective SRH of +400m2/s2. Just need a trigger, and I have a feeling we'll be popping TOR warnings left and right.

going to really keep an eye on the storm approaching madisonville, ky!!! also, now have new storms begining to develop along the MS river and bootheel of MO.

Damage being reported in Haleyville, AL. ABC 33/40 in Birmingham is live online. They will end their coverage when the tornado warnings in their market are gone, which could be a while, and they are expecting to be on all night. The link is on the frontpage and is highlighted with CLICK HERE. It plays in Real Player and will pop up in an extra window, you can play in regular real player as well.
