YOUR BEST 2010 Storm Photographs

I've spent a lot of time looking at tornado photos and video, and Campo is easily the most photogenic ever captured in the modern chasing era, IMO.

Trust me, I thank my lucky stars every day for that tornado! It was a chase that I previously had only dreamed about.

Wow! Your Billings thunderhead is one of the most spectacular I've ever seen either through photography or in person - through 56 years of observation.

Yes, great shots Dave... that Montana updraft is something else! I found another shot of that storm distantly as well from Miles City:

Delicious!

Jason, it was totally a dreamy day. We had to pinch ourselves afterwards.

Wow, there are just tons of great shots in this thread.

Ben you really captured that moment well. I have mainly video captures from that event, and they just don't capture the awe like a jaw dropping still from a DSLR can. Video capture from nearly the same time:

I'd love to be able to go back and reshoot these scenes from that chase with a DSLR:

Here's my favorite non-tornadic storm shot of the year:

I'm not even sure if that storm was severe warned. It was just the back end of a cell I was passing on my way down to some tornado warned cells on June 11 in Colorado. I love the contrast and depth in that image though.

Amazing photo's everyone. This was my first year taking lightning pics. Definitely not the quality of the ones here, but here's my best. These were all taken late may and early June at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy in Plainview Texas.

This thread has brought out some incredible pics.
Supercells and tornadoes are rare here in the Florida Panhandle, but I do take some pics of the local stuff while spotting and I'll throw some of my junk in here.

Backlit by lightning at dusk, this wet microburst is a good tornado look-a-like.

Well, heck. :/ Y'all have some FANTASTIC shots, I'm jealous! Got to have storms to shoot them. Guess my best was of the Rice supe, taken from my back yard, over 50 miles away from this beast.

I'll make my contribution to this thread even though my pictures pale in comparison to most of those in this thread.

Interestingly, my best 2010 picture came after a busted Iowa chase (June 18th, even though I was on the only storm that produced a tornado...I went around it on the NW side as it was producing and by the time I got back to the SE side it was already bowing out). The mammatus behind this MCS was incredible all the way home.

Wasn't my most spectacular year for photography, but I did see a lot of neat storms. Here are my favorites for the year:

This one is not spectacular, but it is one of my favorites because it is my first photography of CG lightning associated with a snowstorm. This occurred along the leading edge of a snowstorm just west of Santa Fe, NM on March 14:

Great thread!

Here goes my first ST post ever! Unfortunately not many of my tornado pictures turned out how I wanted them to, but here are a lot of my structure shots.

My favorite structure shot of the year. This picture was taken just before the Dupree, SD storm put down the first of 13 tornadoes observed on that day.

Hello !

I'm French, and I've taken in my country some thunderstorm shoots (I try, I'm an amator), so this is one of my best photo. ;)

(30/12/09, FRANCE)

This is a blast due to a lightning impact near my position, as you can see I don't have a good camera, but I hope you will like it...

and... Joyeux Noël et Joyeuse fêtes à tous !! :)
